Roselle Recipes Roselle-Pili Bread

Ingredients:

1 Tbsp Instant yeast
1¼ cups Water
3 Tbsp Sugar
4 cups All-purpose flour
½ cup Whole wheat flour
2 tsp Salt
½ cup Toasted pili nuts, roughly chopped
½ cup Daily Apple Sweet Roselle Chips

Procedure:

  1. Pre-heat oven to 375ºF.
  2. Dissolve the yeast in ¼ cup of water with 1 tablespoon of sugar and 1 tablespoon of all-purpose flour.
  3. Mix and sift all-purpose and whole wheat flour in a bowl and make a well in the center. Pour the dissolved yeast mixture, then add the remaining sugar and water, and salt.
  4. Knead for 15 minutes.
  5. Knead in the pili nuts and Daily Apple Sweet Roselle Chips for 5 more minutes, until smooth and elastic.
  6. Set aside to allow the dough to rise until double in bulk.
  7. Divide the dough into 3 parts and shape each portion into long tapered loaves. Let rise until doubled.
  8. Place in a greased pan, sprinkle dough with flour, and bake 40 to 50 minutes.
