Herbanext now on its second year of GMP accreditation

Inspectors from the the Philippine Food and Drug Administration (FDA), formerly Bureau of Food and Drug, recently completed a 2-day Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) audit of the Herbanext Plant in Bago City, Negros Occidental. Herbanext is presently the only GMP-certified Food Supplement Manufacturer by FDA in Western Visayas region out of around a dozen companies. GMP certification is the highest standard on food safety and quality that FDA awards to food supplement manufacturers in the country. It requires strict documentation and traceability of all aspects of manufacturing operations, including the sourcing of raw materials. FDA inspectors also visited the company’s Ganoderma ludicum farm and organic herb farm as part of its traceablity assessment. Herbanext will now be on its second year of GMP certification and is also looking forward to obtaining its Halal certification soon.
