mperor Wu summoned the officer when he noticed that an herb grows inside the palace. They knew that a rotten wood allowed the fungus to sprout and grow but they can not allow such reason to give unless they want to have stiff sentence from the emperor.
hey made up a story about the Ganoderma being an auspicious sign, to please the emperor and to save their life. The emperor was convinced but little did they know that the Ganoderma growth is really a magical herb. It did not only save their life but also the life of others as it was use to cure serious diseases after that incident.
